Towards Conceptual Structures Interoperability Using Common Logic

چکیده

The Common Logic (CL) ISO standard has been officially published and available. While its focus goes beyond the conceptual structures community, one of its components is an interchange format for conceptual graphs. Now the community has an opportunity to leverage the standard for tool usage. Current tools that support pre-ISO versions must now support the standard. Future tools will be much more useful if they too support the standard. This paper describes the CL effort, outlines its main features and issues a call to action.

Standard CGIF interoperability in Amine

The adoption of standard CGIF by CG tools will enable interoperability between them to be achieved, and in turn lead to the interoperability between CG tools and other tools. The integration of ISO Common Logic’s standard CGIF notation in the Amine platform is presented. It also describes the first steps towards full interoperability between the Amine CG tool (through its Synergy component) and...

Towards an Ontology for Conceptual Modeling

Conceptual modeling can be viewed as a way of expressing human understanding of a body of knowledge. This view can be viewed as distinct from standard notions of data modeling and ontology, which seek to directly describe data and reality. We define conceptual interoperability, give use cases and requirements for it, and introduce the Conceptual Model Ontology (CMO), which satisfies the discuss...

Semantic reconciliation across design and manufacturing knowledge models: A logic-based approach

Ontology-based models of product design and manufacture are becoming increasingly important in the effort towards achieving interoperability among various stakeholders within and across product lifecycle systems. However, in the eventuality of having to interoperate between multiple ontology-based models, with the intention of sharing semantic knowledge among them, the process still remains a d...

Logic Agents and Conceptual Interoperability through Semantic Web Technologies

This article describes one possible option on how the flexible and open world of Semantic Web Technologies such as the Resource Description Framework, the Web Ontology Language (OWL) or other languages compatible to the Jena-Model can be integrated with logic based agents implementing the so called Situation Calculus. By integrating both systems tightly all systems’ features are technically mad...

A formal comparison of conceptual data modeling languages

An essential aspect of conceptual data modeling methodologies is the language’s expressiveness so as to represent the subject domain as precise as possible to obtain good quality models and, consequently, software. To gain better insight in the characteristics of the main conceptual modeling languages, we conducted a comparison between ORM, ORM2, UML, ER, and EER with the aid of Description Log...
